My grandfather wrote in long hand as well as with a typewriter. He was not picky about the kind of paper he used to write on--perhaps whatever was available to him or the most economical.

He was serious about his writing, as evidenced by the penciled in revisions and notes on various drafts.

(Originally, I thought that the "Mulberry Street" mentioned in his account was in Newark, NJ. However, after discovering his draft registration card, which listed a New York City address, I concluded that it was the street in New York City.)
